SADI-S Bariatric Surgery for Weight & Diabetes Management
SADI-S bariatric surgery (Single Anastomosis Duodeno-Ileal Bypass with Sleeve Gastrectomy) is an advanced metabolic and weight-loss procedure that combines sleeve gastrectomy with intestinal bypass. It may be considered for people with severe obesity, particularly when obesity is associated with type 2 diabetes and other metabolic complications.
Before surgery, patients undergo a detailed medical assessment to determine whether SADI-S is appropriate. Evaluation may include nutritional assessment, blood tests, diabetes evaluation, and consultation with the bariatric surgery team.
After surgery, long-term follow-up, nutritional monitoring, vitamin and mineral supplementation, a structured diet, and regular medical reviews are important. Diabetes medications may need adjustment as weight and metabolic health change.
